Create an new Asset without using an Asset Model

I just signed our company up for the tracmore service and I'm in the process of setting things up. One thing I've noticed is that there doesn't seem to be a way for me to great an asset without using an asset model. I find that horribly inconvenient since a lot of the items I'll need to add will be one-off items or items that I'll add maybe just a few times ever. I don't see why we cannot just simple add an new asset and  type in all the fields ourselves. If there is a way around this please let me know ASAP.
