Topic: Assets and asset models.

I was wondering if someone could explain the difference between an asset and an asset model for me?

Can a custom filed be created that will be mapped to a defined object?

How do I track my assets in inventory?

Im having troubles demoing the reports portion. I want to run a report to show assets entered and assets moved from inventory.

I have another question as well.

I'm looking at the "New Features Link" located at the top Right hand corner of the Tracmor application. I noticed that this takes me off net to your site. The features listed I thought may not be available due to the wrong version of the app. So I asked the systems guys who installed the application and they confirmed we are running 2.0


Looking at that link I'm reading instructions for a export.

This new feature is now available from the menu at the upper-right corner of every search results listing. You decide the data to export - simply perform a search and customize your view to show exactly the information you want, sorted how you want it. Then click the export link from the menu to download the CSV file containing the results from your search.

IM not seeing the drop down that the instructions talk about. Am I missing somthing? Maybe I did the wrong type of search? However, the instructions read upper-right corner of every search results listing.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend having a look at our video tutorials. The Getting Started series of tutorials will help answer the questions in your first post, and the Exporting Data Tutorial will answer your question about exporting. Let us know if you have further questions after viewing the tutorials.

Excellent... Thank you .. I noticed that there was not an option for import.. Is that still under construction? Any ETA on that at all?

Anyone find an alternative way of importing from an excel sheet? This place has been using an excel sheet off a file share for some time now and we would like to import the data we have.
