comparing assests

I'm planning on implementing a inventory (asset) tracking system for the company I work for and I really like looks of the software y'all have.  I was wondering, as part of the asset tracking I'd need to perform a complete inventory each year.  Is it possible to compare an inventory I just took against what I have recorded in Tracmor's database (and have it make updates automatically based on the new inventory?)
