Topic: Shelf Life of Items in Inventory

We have items that have a shelf life.

Desirable features:-

1. Associate an expiry date and batch number with each restock/receive. (Ok, the batch no. could be a custom field)

2. Check out from inventory from a batch with earliest expiry date first; and provide a way to override this, for example, when the check out is for a demo rather than a real product. Of course, provide some indication to highlight check outs from an expired batch.

3. Display expired stock separately.

This should be addressed by Lot Tracking,  which is a feature that has been requested by some of our customers.  It will be possible to assign a lot number,  expiry date,  or possibly even serial number to inventory,  and then specify this when performing transactions on inventory.  Does that sound like what you need?

To clarify,  are you using the Assets module or Inventory module in Tracmor?

I am using the inventory module.

Lot tracking sounds like it. Is it something that is in development or future plan?

Yes, lot tracking is planned for the future, but is not currently in development.
